We begin the day with a visit to the Peñas Blancas River for a safari float. This trip will take us down a river on a boat without a motor, which allows for a peaceful experience and a chance to observe the forest and its wildlife without disturbing it. A naturalist guide will help you spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crocodiles, and tropical birds.
Halfway through the float, we’ll stop at a beautiful place in the forest to enjoy a small snack and coffee.
This 75-meter waterfall is located in a 500-acre private reserve with a protected rainforest. The walk to the base of the waterfall is approximately 2 km.
During the descent, you might see howler monkeys, toucans, coatis, agoutis, and various birds.
Once at the bottom, enjoy a refreshing swim in the natural pool. Afterward, we’ll visit a local family for a traditional Costa Rican lunch served in an outdoor dining area, followed by freshly brewed Costa Rican coffee.
In the afternoon, we’ll walk along trails at the base of the impressive Arenal Volcano. This 2-hour nature hike through the rainforest allows you to learn about the area’s history and view the lava flows from past eruptions.
Our expert naturalist guide will help spot wildlife such as hummingbirds, lizards, snakes, and frogs.
To end our day, we’ll visit Baldí Hot Springs, the largest hot springs complex in the Arenal area. Here you can enjoy a variety of thermal pools, waterfalls, and water slides.
Some areas are lively with music and drinks, while others are peaceful and relaxing.
This is the perfect way to soothe your muscles and relax after a day full of adventure.
